There are people whose presence makes every room warmer, every gathering brighter, and every moment more meaningful. Mrs. Lil Dominguez is one of those people. I have had the privilege of watching her light up this company for more than thirty years, and I have never once seen her presence fail to make someone’s day better. Her kindness, humility, and genuine care for others have become an enduring reflection of the John Clements company culture, inspiring generations of employees and leaders alike.
Recently, the John Clements family gathered to celebrate a very special milestone birthday for Mrs. Lil. It was a day worth writing about.
A Celebration Nearly a Hundred Strong
The day began with a Mass offered in her honor, followed by a joyful lunch and a heartfelt tribute to her life and to the many years she has shared with our company. Nearly a hundred employees came together for the occasion. That number alone says something. People do not show up in droves unless someone has truly earned their love.
Always Present for the Moments That Matter
Mrs. Lil never misses an important occasion. Whether she is recognizing an employee, celebrating a milestone, or simply joining the fun, she is always there, bringing her warmth, her infectious energy, and that unmistakable smile. After decades of knowing her, I can tell you this has never changed. She still shows up, and she still means it every time.
A Life Still in Motion
What continues to amaze all of us is how much life Mrs. Lil still lives. She loves to travel, and she does it often. After more than nine decades on this earth, she still packs a bag, boards a plane, and goes exploring. Her energy puts people half her age to shame, and it reminds every one of us that a full life is a choice you keep making, year after year.
The Gift of Her Table and Her Time
Perhaps what makes Mrs. Lil most special is her graciousness. She has always been a generous host, sharing her table, her delicious and nourishing food, her time, and her warmth with everyone around her. I have sat at that table more times than I can count, and I have never once left without feeling fuller in more ways than one.
The Warmth That Stays with You

Mrs. Lil has built a lifetime on that truth. Ask anyone who has met her, and they will tell you: she has one of the warmest smiles you will ever encounter, and a way of making people feel welcome, valued, and cared for long after the conversation ends.
Her birthday this year was more than a celebration of another year lived. It was a celebration of grace, generosity, kindness, and joy, and of the many lives she continues to touch, mine included.
