Participant Selection

As part of its commitment, John Clements played a key role in participant selection. The program brought together promising young leaders with diverse backgrounds and strong potential. Specifically, this careful process ensured each participant could maximize the learning experience and contribute meaningfully to the program’s objectives.

For the past 22 years, John Clements Consultants has partnered with AMCHAM in identifying and selecting the “Best of the Best” participants for the AMCHAM Business Leadership Program. This collaboration has consistently gone beyond simple assessment, serving instead as an opportunity to help shape the next generation of Filipino leaders.

Inspiring Journeys

The program welcomed Nicolo Pama, a Filipino engineer and UNSW graduate now building his career in mechatronics. He shared his journey—from academic preparation to navigating opportunities in Australia. His story offered valuable insights into the global workplace, underscoring the importance of continuous learning and adaptability.

Program Overview

This year’s AMCHAM Business Leadership Program combined virtual sessions (June 8–11) with onsite activities (June 14–20), bringing together 28 participants. The central theme was AI for Impact Challenge: Build, Validate, Launch. Teams designed, prototyped, and tested AI-powered solutions addressing urgent environmental, social, or economic challenges in the Philippines.

Innovation Tracks

Solutions were developed under five tracks:

  • AI for Inclusive Growth
  • AI for STEM Education
  • AI for Public Services
  • AI for Environmental Sustainability
  • AI for Smart Cities and Mobility

Furthermore, the program emphasized execution, validation, and real-world impact—not just ideas. An international AI advisory council visited the Philippines to evaluate proposals, provide feedback, and potentially offer seed funding.

Business Plan Development

Teams prepared comprehensive social innovation business plans, including:

  1. Mission or impact statement
  2. Problem definition
  3. Value proposition
  4. Market analysis
  5. Business model
  6. Marketing and sales strategy
  7. Operations plan
  8. Funding requirements
  9. Financial projections

Team Presentations

Five teams presented their innovative AI-driven solutions during the culminating event at AMCHAM’s Makati office:

  • Team 1 – AGAP AI: A SaaS disaster intelligence ecosystem.
  • Team 2 – PERAM: AI-powered software for financial institutions.
  • Team 3 – BakwitCare: A health triage kiosk for displaced communities in Lanao del Sur.
