June Mass and Birthday Celebration: Growing in Faith and Fellowship

John Clements employees gathered for a special Holy Mass and lunch celebration honoring our April, May, and June birthday celebrants. Although our regular Weekly Mass is usually held every Friday, it was moved to Wednesday for that week. The event began with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 12:00 noon, followed by a lunch gathering where everyone came together to celebrate, share a meal, and enjoy each other’s company.

The occasion served as a meaningful reminder that every blessing comes from God and that every celebration becomes more meaningful when we begin it with prayer and thanksgiving. Before enjoying the food and festivities, we first gathered as one workplace community to offer our gratitude to the Lord for His guidance, protection, and countless blessings.

Celebrating Gratitude, Community, and God’s Blessings

The Holy Mass is a celebration of God’s love, mercy, and sacrifice for humanity. It commemorates the Last Supper, where Jesus Christ offered His Body and Blood to His disciples and established the Holy Eucharist. Through the Mass, we remember Christ’s sacrifice and are invited to deepen our relationship with Him.

For Catholics, the Mass is the highest form of worship because it allows us to encounter Jesus in a personal and profound way through the Eucharist. It is a time to offer thanksgiving, prayers, and intentions while receiving spiritual nourishment and strength.

The June 3 Mass was especially meaningful because it was also offered in thanksgiving for the lives and blessings received by our April, May, and June birthday celebrants. Specifically, it reminded us that every milestone and achievement is ultimately a gift from God.

A Blessing to Worship and Serve at JC

When I started working at JC, one of the first things I learned was that the company holds a Weekly Friday Mass. I was genuinely happy when I found out because my Catholic faith has always been an important part of my life. In fact, on my very first Friday at JC, I immediately attended the Mass.

Having served in a Catholic Church organization in Manila for the past ten years, I have always valued opportunities to participate in Church ministry. When I attended my first Mass at JC, I was asked if I could serve as the Commentator. I gladly accepted, and since then, I have been blessed to serve regularly as the Commentator during our Weekly Friday Masses.

Serving during the Holy Mass has always been one of the ways I express my devotion to Jesus Nazareno. Being able to continue this ministry in the workplace is truly a blessing. Furthermore, it strengthens our workplace community by allowing faith to flourish alongside professional responsibilities.

Faith in the Workplace

For me, the Holy Mass is the highest form of prayer. It is where we encounter Christ through the Holy Eucharist and experience His presence in a special way. The Mass reminds us that amidst our busy schedules and responsibilities, we should always make time for God.

Participating in the Weekly Mass is truly a blessing. It brings peace, comfort, and spiritual fulfillment while reminding us that God is present not only in the church but also in our workplace and daily lives. In contrast, without such practices, workplaces often miss opportunities to nurture unity and shared values.

By joining the Mass with colleagues, we create a stronger workplace community. It allows us to grow not only as professionals but also as people of faith.

Fellowship and Celebration

The June 3 celebration was a beautiful example of this. After the Mass, everyone gathered for lunch and celebrated the birthdays of our colleagues born in April, May, and June. It was a joyful occasion filled with gratitude, fellowship, and meaningful conversations.

Moments like these remind us that beyond our work responsibilities, we are part of a workplace community that values faith, respect, and genuine connections with one another.
