John Clements Consultant Inc. and EDI-Staffbuilders International Inc. recently held an engaging and meaningful Sales and Production Conference on August 15, 2026, bringing the team together to review company performance for May, June, and July 2026. The event centered on the theme “Beyond What We See: The Grit Behind the Scene,” highlighting not only business results but also the dedication, teamwork, and perseverance that drive success behind the scenes.
At its core, the conference celebrated employee excellence, recognizing the individuals and teams whose consistent efforts contribute to organizational growth.
A Fun Start with Toy Story
The event opened with an entertaining Toy Story-inspired skit featuring a Green Army Man attempting to rescue the aliens. However, as Andy and his friends returned to the room, the toys quickly returned to their positions and pretended to be ordinary toys.
The performance delivered a simple yet powerful message. Just like the toys in Toy Story, there is often much more happening behind the scenes than people realize. Consequently, the skit created the perfect introduction to the conference theme.
Potato Rush: Teamwork, Speed, and Fun
Before the reports began, employees participated in a high-energy icebreaker called “Potato Rush.” Teams raced against the clock while carrying a handmade ping-pong ball with chopsticks through a piko course.
The challenge continued when each team assembled a Mr. or Mrs. Potato Head before proudly shouting: “TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!”
The activity was filled with excitement and laughter. More importantly, it reinforced workplace skills such as:
- Communication
- Coordination
- Patience
- Teamwork
- Problem-solving
These qualities play a significant role in achieving employee excellence across different departments.
Sales Report: Looking Beyond the Numbers
Recognizing the People Behind Performance

Following the icebreaker, the Sales Team presented its accomplishments and performance results for the previous three months. However, the report extended beyond metrics and targets. The presentation included thoughtful questions that encouraged employees to reflect on their experiences, values, challenges, and personal growth.
As a result, colleagues gained a deeper understanding of one another. The session reminded everyone that business achievements are made possible by people, not numbers alone. This perspective remains a key element of employee excellence in any organization.
A Taste of What’s Ahead
During the break, employees enjoyed a special meal prepared by one of the chefs, who is scheduled to begin an exciting opportunity in Finland this coming November.
The menu featured:
- Tuna Sandwich
- Creamy Chicken Mushroom Penne Pasta
- Seasonal Fruits
The meal allowed employees to experience his culinary expertise before his deployment while adding a personal and celebratory touch to the event.
Lessons on Resilience and Growth
One of the conference highlights was an inspiring session led by Mark Vincent F. Reyes, RPSY, RPM, who discussed the conference theme and the characteristics that support long-term success.
Specifically, he focused on:
- Resilience
- Consistency
- Discipline
- Positive mindset
- The power of showing up
He also introduced a simple deep-breathing exercise and explained the Iceberg of Success, a model that illustrates how visible success often rests on a foundation of unseen effort, sacrifices, failures, and persistence.

Furthermore, Mr. Reyes emphasized that consistency is where results are built. Small actions performed repeatedly create meaningful progress over time. This message strongly reflected the principle of employee excellence, which develops through daily commitment rather than isolated achievements.
One of the most memorable takeaways from the session was his closing reflection:
“Just like Andy’s toys coming alive when no humans are in the room, your real growth happens in solitude. Excellence is rarely one extraordinary stage performance. Excellence is ordinary effort repeated extraordinarily well behind the scenes.”
Production Report: Connecting Performance with Purpose
The Production Team then reviewed key accomplishments, activities, and performance results for the reporting period. The presentation also included reflective discussions that encouraged employees to examine life experiences, aspirations, and lessons learned.
In contrast to traditional reporting sessions that focus strictly on metrics, these conversations helped strengthen personal connections and foster a deeper understanding among team members.

Looking Ahead
More than a quarterly review, the August Sales and Production Conference served as a reminder that every accomplishment has a story behind it. Every target achieved, candidate deployed, client supported, and challenge overcome reflects the collective effort of dedicated professionals working behind the scenes.
As the organization moves forward, the message remains clear: keep showing up, stay consistent, embrace challenges, and continue striving for employee excellence. Success is rarely built overnight. Instead, it grows through disciplined effort, resilience, and teamwork when no one is watching.
