Traveling with a big family is no small feat—especially when it includes six grandkids aged 10, 9, 7, 5, 3, and a 9-month-old baby. But our one-week holiday to Singapore wasn’t just possible—it was joyful, bonding, and remarkably smooth. All thanks to thoughtful planning!
Preflight Prep: A Quick Family Briefing
Before we boarded our flight, I gathered the older kids for a short “Singapore Rules” briefing. It wasn’t too long—just enough to remind them not to litter, definitely no chewing gum, and to be mindful of local laws and customs. The rest? Well, the older ones could read up on the “no-no’s” themselves.

Touchdown: First Impressions of a High-Tech Haven
What immediately struck us upon arrival was how super-efficient everything was—from the airport procedures to the transportation system. It took no more than 3 to 5 minutes to get a taxi, and the traffic was smooth. We were at our hotel in just 30 minutes!
Singapore’s public systems were an eye-opener, especially for the kids. Everything was clean, organized, and high-tech. It sparked curiosity, excitement, and wonder—not just in the young ones but in all of us.
The Power of a Well-Planned Itinerary
From June 1 to June 7, We came prepared with a daily itinerary and—true to form—we stuck to it! Each night, we would review the day’s events and decide what time to leave the following day. This discipline allowed us to cover a lot of ground without chaos.
Here’s what our week looked like:

More Than Souvenirs: Lessons and Laughs
We deliberately didn’t schedule shopping days (we know Singapore can be expensive), but we did visit some charming local shops and picked up small souvenirs. The real treasures, though, were the shared experiences.
When Tech Sparks Joy
One of the most impressive aspects of Singapore is how it uses technology to elevate the tourist experience. From interactive exhibits to immersive displays at museums and gardens, there’s an intentional effort to make every visit meaningful and memorable.
Final Thoughts: Core Memories in the Making
This vacation was never just about sightseeing—it was about opening our grandchildren’s eyes to a world beyond home. A world where development and discipline, fun and function, tradition and innovation co-exist beautifully. It was about bonding as a family and creating core memories that will last a lifetime. The happiness we experienced during this trip is something we will carry with us forever. It is etched in our hearts, sealed by laughter, teamwork, discovery—and love.
