Every learning journey is marked with highs and lows, worthwhile struggles, and memories worth keeping for the participants of John Clements’ leadership programs. On October 16, 2025, Marsh McLennan concluded their Leadership Excellence and Acceleration Program with their Action Learning Projects and Graduation Ceremony wrapped into one jam-packed day.
Rising to the Challenge
As their Program Manager, I’ve seen how these leaders worked hard to immerse themselves in class and delve into cases while juggling extremely tight schedules. Nevertheless, there are times when they had to contend with horrendous weather, abysmal traffic conditions, and the threat of illness, but they always found a way to capitalize on their opportunities. Moreover, every student came to class with fresh insights, widening the perspective of their colleagues, and engaging in fruitful collaboration that always led to valuable discussions.
Opening Remarks and Reflections
To begin, our welcome messages for this segment were from the CEO of John Clements, Maria Carolina Dominguez, and the Senior HR Manager of Marsh Philippines, Ms. Tinny Ho. Both gave inspiring words that spurred our participants, while our CEO recognized their efforts and walked them down the journey of their entire program. Meanwhile, as we were rearing up for the presentations, participants were approaching me, whispering about mixed feelings of relief and regret, expressing just how much they’ll miss the program. Consequently, some were even clamoring for “Season 2,” which is a cheeky reference to the time they explored the business case of a popular streaming service giant.
Presentations with Purpose
Just like always, people were hyper-focused during their presentations. Among many critical proposals that target their company’s pertinent issues or opportunities, their current projects were specifically chosen and approved by their leaders. Furthermore, participants from different departments and areas combined their varying shades of expertise, their idiosyncrasies serving to form complex solutions that open new horizons for the future of their business. Even participants that were not present, due to crucial client demands and schedules, were nevertheless given recognition by their peers who credited them for their deep research and work on the written aspect of their projects.
Insightful Panel Feedback
In addition, the leaders acting as panelists, both from JCCI and Marsh, gave their critique and analysis of their projects, even going as far as to offer recommendations that will further hone the potential of their ideas into something that will help the company. Moreover, panelists from overseas joined in via Zoom to dedicate their effort in the discussions despite the large difference in time zones. If it were not for the constraints of their work schedules, the cerebral discussions could have easily stretched out for many hours.
Graduation and Recognition
After the presentations, people breathed a collective sigh of relief. Subsequently, we had an intimate graduation ceremony. Paolo Garcia, the CEO of Marsh, congratulated the winners of the Best Action Learning Project and the rest of the participants for successfully completing the program. Additionally, he gave heartfelt words that rang true with recognition, and his speech lauded people for their efforts. He also had the foresight to remind some of his people to approach experts within the company regarding the other projects as well, making sure that nothing is left unheard.
The participants gave their testimonials about the program, laughing about their experiences, and giving a sincere sense of appreciation for their experiences. Although they admitted that it took a lot of effort to balance everything, it was worth the time. As a result, they’re rallying for another round of the MARSH LEAP program, speaking as our greatest supporters for “Season 2.”
A Journey That Lives On
As this chapter of the MARSH LEAP journey ends, what remains is the shared sense of growth, purpose, and connection among everyone involved. Ultimately, the ideas presented, the conversations sparked, and the effort poured into every session reflect a group of leaders deeply engaged in shaping their future. Their work has already made an impact, and the enthusiasm for what comes next speaks volumes.
