The Manila Polo Club was full of energy and excitement as Vivant Corporation officially re-launched COREnergy, its retail electricity supply arm, in a milestone event that brought together government leaders, business partners, and industry movers under one vision: to make energy simpler, smarter, and more accessible for Filipino enterprises.
The event marked a defining moment for the Vivant Group as it reaffirmed its commitment to innovation and market liberalization in the country’s evolving energy landscape. In fact, the re-launch of COREnergy reflects Vivant’s drive to lead the transition toward a more customer-centric and competitive electricity market — one that empowers businesses with the power of choice.
A Milestone of Innovation and Inclusion
In his opening remarks, Mr. Arlo Sarmiento, Chief Executive Officer of Vivant Corporation, warmly welcomed the guests — including long-time partners, customers, and friends from the energy sector — and expressed gratitude for their continued trust.
“Bringing that threshold down to about 100 kilowatts changes the game and opens the market for more suppliers of energy,” Sarmiento said, referring to the Energy Regulatory Commission’s (ERC) recent move to lower the contestable market threshold. “At Vivant, we’ve always believed that to stay relevant, we must never stop innovating. The world doesn’t stand still — and neither can we.”
Meanwhile, Sarmiento also took time to recognize the dedicated team behind COREnergy, highlighting their collective expertise spanning energy, manufacturing, marketing, and corporate strategy. “This is a team that understands the pain points of our customers,” he said. “We’ve built COREnergy around that understanding.”
Powering Profitability and Partnership
Following Mr. Sarmiento’s remarks, Mr. Francis Delval, President of COREnergy, delivered an inspiring message that underscored the company’s renewed purpose.
“This is not just a change in regulation — this is energy freedom,” Delval declared. “When you plug into COREnergy, you’re not just plugging into power. You’re plugging into our commitment — to help you improve your profitability, your productivity, and your performance.”
Delval shared that COREnergy’s customer-focused approach has already delivered ₱300 million in savings for clients over the past three years. As a result, he also introduced MyPower Platform, COREnergy’s proprietary energy analytics tool designed to help businesses track, manage, and optimize their electricity usage.
“We believe businessmen deserve business partners,” he added. “Our mission is to make energy simple, seamless, and smart.”
ERC’s Endorsement of Consumer Empowerment

The guest of honor, Atty. Shara Angela Blanco, Chief of the Contestable Market Division at the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), congratulated Vivant and COREnergy on their re-launch, emphasizing how their initiative supports the policy goals of the Electric Power Industry Reform Act (EPIRA).
“Our gathering today is not merely the unveiling of a new corporate identity,” Blanco said. “It is a reaffirmation of EPIRA’s promise — to transition the country into a truly competitive and consumer-centric energy market, providing the power of choice to electricity end-users.”
Blanco discussed several ERC programs that open the market to more participants, including the Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA) threshold reduction to 100 kilowatts, the Green Energy Option Program (GEOP) for renewable energy users, and the Retail Aggregation Program for smaller consumers.
Consequently, she added, “By empowering businesses to be flexible, cost-effective, and customer-focused, COREnergy supports the very policy goals of EPIRA — ensuring competitiveness and shared prosperity for the nation.”
Lighting the Way Forward

The night also featured a stunning visual showcase that told the story of COREnergy’s evolution — from its origins under Vivant to its bold new identity. Company executives and partners, including representatives from the ERC, took to the stage for ceremonial photos, symbolizing the unity between government and the private sector in driving energy transformation.
To close the evening, Mr. Emil Garcia, President of Vivant Energy, led a toast to celebrate the milestone.
“A toast to a future that’s smarter, stronger, and built on the idea that energy, at its core, should be accessible to everyone,” Garcia said.
The celebration continued with good food, lively music, and warm camaraderie, reflecting the shared optimism for the future of the Philippine energy industry. Ultimately, as Vivant and COREnergy move forward, one message resonated throughout the night:
The power to choose is finally in the hands of Filipino businesses.
