One of the things that make life sweeter is the simple act of gratitude. Despite our numerous challenges this year, there are still many reasons to be thankful. Every month, John Clements upholds the tradition of fostering gratitude in the workplace by honoring its hardworking employees and celebrating their achievements amidst corporate adversity and rising challenges.
Reflecting on Successes: Thanksgiving Gathering
On November 23, 2024, John Clements’ Sales and Production teams gathered for a conference coinciding with the iconic celebration of Thanksgiving. It provided everyone with an opportunity to step back and breathe, offering a brief pause. Together, we reflected on our small victories and great achievements in overcoming obstacles—successes made possible by the company’s spirit of collaboration and the unwavering determination of individuals.
Gratitude Circle: Sharing Thankfulness
We began the event with a Gratitude Circle led by Ms. Alexandra Lamb Moran. She tossed an adorable stuffed pumpkin to random individuals, giving them a chance to share what they were most thankful for. Participants expressed gratitude for both professional and personal blessings that brightened their months and brought them happiness, emphasizing the true value of their circumstances. This activity highlighted how gratitude in the workplace creates a culture of appreciation and positivity.
Thanksgiving Insights: History and Trivia
On that day, we walked a bridge lovingly built by Western culture, connecting us to the universal concept of giving thanks. Mr. Tully Moss and Dr. Grace Alcid, veteran discussion leaders from the John Clements Leadership Institute, shared insights into the rich history and essence of the iconic holiday. During his welcome remarks, Tully delivered an engaging history lesson filled with fascinating facts about Thanksgiving’s origins, such as how it was customary to express gratitude for a ship’s safe passage, regardless of religious or political orientation. Meanwhile, Dr. Grace hosted an energy-filled trivia game about Thanksgiving that energized the room. Participants eagerly competed for prizes, demonstrating their enthusiasm and applying the morning’s learnings.
Awards and Acknowledging Team Achievements
The company rarely misses an opportunity to recognize individuals for their accomplishments, and the results of everyone’s efforts were evident throughout the awards segment. In a touching show of empathy and collaboration, the winners primarily expressed gratitude to their teams and everyone they deemed instrumental in their achievements. These victories were not a one-person show but the byproduct of collective efforts driven by solidarity. Leaders spoke highly of their people, and the employees accepted their certificates with a well-deserved sense of pride.
