A Memorable Corporate Trip to Finland

Our recent corporate trip to Finland from October 14–20, 2024, was an enriching experience that perfectly blended productive business meetings, cultural engagements, and scenic exploration. With Helsinki as our central hub, we navigated through a week of insightful discussions, facility tours, and delightful local experiences while fostering a strong camaraderie among our team.

Journey Overview

Our adventure began with a late-night departure from Manila on October 13, 2024. We had a brief stopover in Qatar, where we explored the impressive Hamad International Airport. Upon arriving in Helsinki, our Finnish colleague warmly welcomed us, setting the tone for an incredible Finnish experience.

Business Insights and Meetings

The week was filled with insightful office meetings where we discussed recruitment strategies and challenges in Finland’s healthcare sector. Highlights included an overview of services and logistics and presentations on recruitment status and project developments. We also met several key officers, gaining valuable insights and emphasizing the need for collaboration and strategic planning to address industry challenges.

Cultural Experiences

One of the most enchanting moments of our trip was attending the ballet performance A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Opera House. This cultural immersion was further enriched by traditional Finnish activities, including a relaxing sauna experience and a memorable Finnish dinner in the city center. These experiences highlighted the significance of cultural appreciation in strengthening professional relationships.

Facility Visits and On-site Engagements

Our itinerary included visits to key facilities, including an elderly care center and a practical nursing school. These visits gave us a firsthand look at the working environments and training programs for our dispatched nurses, deepening our understanding of the support needed for their success.

At the elderly care center, we toured the dementia care unit with the HR Manager and met two of our nurses. Similarly, the practical nursing school visit highlighted the hands-on training our nurses receive, showcasing the strong educational infrastructure in place.

Community Building

A key highlight of our trip was the meet-and-greet events with our dispatched nurses, cooks, and other staff members. These gatherings fostered community and appreciation, boosting team morale and connectivity. Sharing meals and casual evenings, including a delightful time at pizza bars in Vantaa and Helsinki, emphasized the value of personal connections in creating a cohesive and motivated workforce.

Scenic and Leisure Activities

The trip wasn’t all about business; we also had the opportunity to unwind and enjoy the picturesque Finnish countryside. A relaxing weekend in Lohja offered a serene escape from the bustling city, allowing us to savor the beauty of the lake and maple trees while enjoying traditional Finnish cuisine.
