On April 5, 2025, the JCCI-EDI family traded their work desks for the warm, sandy shores of Club Laiya, Batangas. With the sun shining high, the day promised endless fun, relaxation, and team bonding—creating memories that would last long after the event. For many, it was not just another company outing. It was a chance to let loose, laugh, and experience the thrill of being together outside the office. This year, the outing held a special significance. As for me, it was my very first job and my first-ever corporate summer outing, and I couldn’t contain my excitement!
A Journey of Anticipation: The Road to Club Laiya
We departed from the office at exactly 4:30 AM, with high spirits and eager anticipation for the day ahead. The bus ride was filled with excitement and chatter as everyone exchanged expectations for what was to come. After a smooth journey, we arrived at Club Laiya around 7:30 AM, greeted by the refreshing sea breeze and the inviting sight of crystal-clear waters.
Energizing Team-Building Activities: Friendly Competition and Laughter
The day officially began with a burst of energy as the JCCI-EDI team came together for a series of engaging team-building activities. These games provided the perfect mix of fun and friendly competition.
One of the first games was the hilarious Head, Shoulder, and Grab, where quick reflexes were essential as participants raced to grab items placed on their heads or shoulders. The game was full of laughter as everyone tried to outdo each other.
Next up was the fast-paced Water Relay, where participants teamed up to carry water from one end to another, racing against the clock and each other. Water splashed everywhere as people hurried to fill their team’s bucket, the intensity rising with each successful relay.
More Games, More Laughter: Bonding Through Play
Following the relay was the Shake, Pass, and Bang game, which had everyone in stitches. Players formed a circle and passed a balloon while shaking their bodies to the beat of the music. When the music stopped, the person holding the balloon had to pop it by sitting on it—creating a hilarious moment as everyone scrambled to comply.
Another exciting game was Passing the Balloon, where participants passed a balloon between their knees without using their hands. The catch? Whoever was caught holding the balloon when the music stopped had to pop it by sitting on a chair. This added a mix of suspense and fun to the activity.
The highlight of the day was the final game, Winner Takes It All – Jack and Poy. This twist on the classic Rock, Paper, Scissors had players holding a 5-peso coin each. Every round was intense, with winners collecting all the coins from their opponents. At stake was a 500-peso equivalent, making the game thrilling and competitive—everyone wanted to take home the prize.
The energy in the air was electric as teammates cheered each other on. These games brought out the competitive spirit in everyone while promoting teamwork, laughter, and friendly rivalry. As the day went on, it became clear that the goal wasn’t just to win but to create memories and bond through shared experiences.
A Feast for the Senses: Lunch by the Beach
After a morning filled with laughter and competition, the team gathered for a well-deserved lunch. The spread was nothing short of amazing, featuring fresh, healthy, and delicious dishes that catered to every taste. As we dined together by the beach, the sound of waves crashing against the shore provided a serene backdrop to the bustling conversations and shared laughter!
Thrills on the Water: Banana Boat and UFO Ride Adventures
The afternoon brought more excitement, with the beach offering a playground for water sports enthusiasts. Teams eagerly signed up for the thrilling banana boat ride and the heart-pounding Disco UFO boat ride. As the boats raced across the water, screams and laughter filled the air—a testament to the adrenaline-pumping fun everyone was having.
For those seeking a more leisurely pace, the warm waters of Club Laiya beckoned. Some chose to enjoy a relaxing swim, while others lounged by the shore, soaking up the sun and enjoying the tranquil surroundings. The combination of adventure and relaxation created the perfect balance for an unforgettable day.

As the afternoon wore on, it was time for the much-anticipated snacks. The assortment of treats—from savory bites to sweet indulgences—was the perfect way to recharge before the evening wrapped up.
