India’s Tech Revolution: What the Philippines Can Learn from NTLF 2025

The NASSCOM Technology & Leadership Forum (NTLF) 2025, held from February 24 to 25 in Mumbai, was an eye-opening experience that brought together global thought leaders, innovators, and decision-makers to explore the intersection of technology and human potential. As the largest gathering of the Indian technology ecosystem, the forum provided valuable insights into how India is leveraging emerging technologies to drive economic growth, inclusivity, and sustainability. Attending this event annually has allowed our company to stay ahead of industry trends, embrace innovation, and integrate global best practices into our operations.

Advancing Digital Transformation

Over the years, our consistent participation in the NTLF has played a pivotal role in our digital transformation journey. Inspired by the technological advancements presented at the conference, we have gradually transitioned toward digitalization by moving our data infrastructure to the cloud. This shift has improved data accessibility, security, and collaboration across our teams.

Leveraging AI for Smarter Recruitment

One of the most significant learnings we have adopted is the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into our recruitment process. Industry leaders’ insights on how AI is reshaping business models have encouraged us to explore new ways to optimize our operations. Today, AI plays a critical role in our candidate screening and interviewing processes.

By leveraging AI-powered tools, our recruiters can efficiently sift through large volumes of résumés, match candidates to job requirements, and conduct initial interview assessments using conversational AI platforms. This not only enhances productivity but also ensures a more objective and consistent evaluation of candidates, ultimately improving the quality of hires.

A key message echoed throughout the conference was that AI will not replace humans; instead, it will empower those who use it effectively. This aligns with our belief that technology should augment human capabilities rather than displace them. Our recruiters now have more time to focus on building relationships with clients and candidates while AI handles repetitive and administrative tasks.

India’s Human-Centric Digital Economy

One of the most inspiring takeaways from this year’s forum is India’s commitment to building a human-centric digital economy. Several sessions highlighted how India is addressing the digital divide, upskilling its workforce, and creating inclusive opportunities through AI and digital infrastructure. The Indian government’s proactive initiatives—such as training 10,000 women in AI, implementing digital public infrastructure, and fostering startup ecosystems—offer valuable lessons for the Philippines.

Lessons for the Philippines

Like India, the Philippines has a thriving talent pool and a robust business process outsourcing (BPO) industry. However, to remain competitive in the global landscape, we must accelerate our digital transformation efforts. Collaboration between government agencies like the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), private industry, and technology providers will be critical in shaping a future-ready workforce.

India’s FutureSkills Prime program, which has already trained 400,000 individuals in AI and other emerging technologies, serves as an excellent model for the Philippines to follow. By investing in large-scale upskilling programs and fostering a culture of continuous learning, we can unlock new opportunities for our workforce and create more high-value jobs in the digital economy.

Another notable initiative is Maharashtra’s ambition to become the AI capital of India, with its dedicated AI training programs and partnerships with the tech industry. This kind of public-private collaboration can serve as a blueprint for how the Philippines can integrate AI into sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, and public services.

Shaping a Digital Future

The forum reaffirmed that technology, when driven by purpose and ethics, can be a force for positive change. As we navigate the next phase of our company’s growth, we are more committed than ever to leveraging AI, cloud, and digital platforms to enhance our services and empower our people.

By learning from India’s journey, strengthening collaboration between the government and private sector, and prioritizing human-centric innovation, the Philippines can harness the power of technology to drive inclusive growth and shape a brighter digital future.
