The leaps and bounds of humanity’s knowledge are marked by innovation and the ingenious creations that take us to greater heights. From the digital gold rush brought by the age of computers, we are now advancing even further with the advent of artificial intelligence (AI) and witnessing its impact on many jobs. I was fortunate enough to know more about this topic, as I attended the breakfast forum held at Manila Golf and Country Club, titled “AI Revolution: Elevating Skills to New Heights,” last April 16, 2024.
This event was organized by our President and CEO, Ms. Carol Dominguez, and the executives from John Clements Leadership Institute. The main speaker of the forum was Xianxi Ning, APAC Business Development Director of CrossKnowledge, an exclusive partner of John Clements here in the Philippines. He visited the country to speak about the transformative power of artificial intelligence for organizations and their initiatives.
The Impact of AI on Skills Development
Xianxi demonstrated how AI, through ChatGPT, prioritizes key skills crucial for companies to stay competitive. Mastering AI for hard skills and roles aids in developing critical attributes like emotional intelligence and critical thinking, vital in AI-driven industries.
AI in today’s learning market focuses on the cognitive aspect, ideal for hard skills development, unlike the behavioral approach for soft skills. Xianxi noted CrossKnowledge’s AI approach for systematic and efficient organization training, ensuring lasting and impactful learning.
Insightful Discussion
The discussion initially centered on skills and people development, highlighting AI’s potential to revolutionize company processes. It then transformed into a vibrant exchange of ideas and expectations about AI. Attendees raised crucial queries about ethical and legal implications, particularly regarding integrity and data privacy. Governments worldwide are leveraging AI and will continue regulating it. These pivotal questions captured the attendees’ attention, sparking engaging conversations.
Looking Ahead
Xianxi previewed CrossKnowledge’s approach to meet the rising demand for AI upskilling before closing the forum. The upcoming programs will feature diverse, curated content on high-impact AI initiatives and generative AI use.
AI’s permanence underscores the need to harness its advantages to stay competitive and navigate the evolving future successfully.
