  • Reflecting on NTLF 2025: A Glimpse into the Future of Technology, Leadership, and Innovation

After years of attending the NASSCOM Technology and Leadership Forum (NTLF), Carol Dominguez (President & CEO), Grace Sorongon (EVP & Managing Director), Roger Santos (Group Managing Consultant), and I returned to witness firsthand how technology and leadership continue to evolve. This year’s event reinforced key themes shaping the future of business, but what stood out the most was how AI, talent development, and India’s digital ambitions are coming together to redefine industries.

The Rise of Global Capability Centers and AI Integration

One of the biggest talking points was the rise of Global Capability Centers (GCCs). No longer just operational support hubs, they are now at the forefront of global tech transformations, growing at a rapid 13.51% CAGR. More than ever, AI is becoming the defining factor—companies that integrate AI into their core strategies rather than as an add-on will lead the pack. The question is no longer whether to embrace AI, but how fast businesses can make the shift to AI-native operations.

Data-Driven Decision-Making

Data was another hot topic. Leaders from McDonald’s, Falabella Group, and Mindspace Business Parks had a clear message: don’t fall into the trap of hoarding data without a plan. Businesses need to start with a clear problem and work backward to find the right data and technology solutions. More organizations are breaking down silos, encouraging collaboration between business leaders, engineers, and data scientists to ensure technology drives real impact—whether in customer experience, efficiency, or revenue.

Preparing the Workforce for an AI-Driven Future

On the talent front, there was a strong focus on preparing the workforce for an AI-driven future. While many employees see new technology as a threat, companies like Wipro and Fidelity National Financial India emphasize that success lies in hands-on training, leadership support, and fostering a culture of innovation. The way forward isn’t just about upskilling—it’s about making work more flexible, dynamic, and engaging so employees feel empowered rather than displaced.

India’s Digital and AI Revolution

India’s digital and AI revolution was another major highlight. Intending to become a $30 trillion economy by 2047, the country is making significant strides in AI, data centers, and renewable energy. The concept of AI Data Cities—integrated hubs combining data infrastructure, green energy, and talent development—could generate over 39 million jobs. However, to stay competitive, India needs inclusive AI adoption, stronger public-private partnerships, and policies that support homegrown AI solutions. The challenge? Other global players are moving fast, and India must act now to secure its leadership in AI and digital transformation.

The Future of AI: Enhancing Human Potential

Throughout the forum, one key message kept coming up: AI isn’t here to replace people but to enhance what we can do. SAP’s Chief Futurist, Martin Wezowski, painted a vision of the future where AI works alongside humans to boost creativity, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence. The idea isn’t just about automation—it’s about making people smarter, more efficient, and better decision-makers. India’s push toward homegrown AI models also tie into this, ensuring the country maintains technological sovereignty while creating solutions tailored to its own needs.

Looking Ahead: The Road to Transformation

So, what’s next? Businesses that embrace AI, make data-driven decisions, invest in the right talent, and align with India’s digital ambitions will lead the way. Transformation is accelerating, and those who move quickly will thrive. The future isn’t just about technology—it’s about how we use it to create meaningful impact.

As we look ahead, one thing is clear: change is coming, and the best way forward is to lean into it, adapt, and innovate.
