Years of Commitment and Service: Tupperware’s Story with John Clements
Introduced in the Philippines back in 1966, Tupperware Brands Philippines has since become a household name. Having merged with Sara Lee Direct Selling Philippines in 2007, it is now recognized as a “multi-brand, multi-category direct sales company” that develops an independent door-to-door sales force as well as recruits individuals who sell Tupperware’s products themselves.
For majority of its time in the country, Tupperware Brands has relied on John Clements for its recruitment and consulting needs. HR Director Jane Montilla is a staunch believer in the John Clements brand, having been a client for such a long time herself.
“I’ve been a client of John Clements for more than twenty years,” Montilla shares. “To me personally, it has been a very reliable partner, and because our relationship has been so long, they’re actually like family already to me and my husband, who also had a lot of experiences [with them] especially during Cady [Dominguez, John Clements founder’s] time. I feel secure having them as my partner, because I know I can always run to them and they will always be there to assist me.”
With its unbeaten commitment to service and years of experience in the industry, John Clements surely has much to be proud of. As an industry gamechanger in its own right, the company has been pioneering services and solutions in the Philippines for all of its 40 years.
“John Clements is the largest HR consulting firm in the Philippines, and I would like to think they’re also probably the oldest,” Montilla says. “So it has stability, in addition to the depth of their expertise, and also their network is much greater than any other consulting firm in the Philippines.
“Those are just a few benefits of working with John Clements: their wide and deep experience in the area of HR consulting, their network, their stability as a company, and like I said, to me, it’s always having a reliable partner with you that will always be there and won’t leave you hanging every time you need help.”
Montilla has not only enjoyed the benefits of these services; she’s also watched the company grow alongside her own, and is quick to express her faith and pride in how far John Clements has come.
“I always recommend others to use John Clements, whether it’s Executive Search, Staffing, Training,” she says. “Especially when Carol [Dominguez, John Clements’ President and CEO] came in; she turned it around and made it very competitive, very fresh. I know that she also has a program of training everybody in the company so that they are updated and they keep their competency levels better than par, because they’re expected to be consultants to the rest of the business community. I like the way John Clements has evolved and grown and made itself more relevant, especially through tie-ups with Harvard, that sort of thing. It’s actually very refreshing.”
