Meryl Batillano

Meryl is the Legal and Welfare Officer of EDI-Staffbuilders International (EDI), responsible for managing overseas employment contracts, addressing OFW welfare concerns, and ensuring compliance with DMW and OWWA laws, guidelines, and regulations. His role also includes reviewing recruitment agreements, serving as a PDOS-accredited trainer, managing the Overseas Welfare Monitoring System, and coordinating with the company’s assigned law firms. In addition, he represents the company in mediation and conciliation conferences at DMW, OWWA (both Main and Regional), and NLRC, providing management with recommendations on dispute resolution and potential case filings in a cost-efficient manner. He also handles other legal and welfare-related tasks as required by administrative bodies and the company. Meryl brings 11 years of overseas experience in HR, administration, project management, and operations in Kuwait’s luxury retail industry. He previously worked at EDI from 2009 to 2011 as part of the Processing and Documentation Group and rejoined in January 2022 in his current role under the same department. He holds a BA in Social Science, double majoring in Political Science and Psychology, from the University of the Philippines Baguio. He also pursued a Bachelor of Laws.
