Our Legacy of Empowerment

1974

Mr. John Clements, Australian psychologist, and Mr. Cady Dominguez, Harvard Business School graduate, sealed the partnership of John Clements Consultants, Inc. for Executive Search and set its sights on becoming a pioneer in the recruitment business.
1976

Looking at the growing need for staffing of professionals, middle management down to rank and file, Professional Staffers Division was born in 1976.
1979

In 1979, Mr. Dominguez formed EDI Staffbuilders with Mr. John Corrigan, an Australian investment banker, to initially service projects in Saudi Arabia.
1991

In 1991, another promising market caught Mr. Dominguez’s eyes: Jakarta. He sent two of his consultants to case the joint, so to speak, and to set up a manual of future operations.
1995

Two more divisions formed in 1995 – Speednet and Shop ‘n Check Philippines
2002

In August 2002, Mr. Dominguez – without fuss or fanfare – suddenly fell ill and said goodbye to John Clements Consultants, Inc., the company he gave life to, nurtured, and grew for 28 years.
2004

In 2004, new developments emerged in the corporate world. Offshore Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) was huge and rapidly growing at an unprecedented rate. The call center industry was the fastest growing industry in world, and because of that we pitched the capability of the Philippines to handle BPO/IT and shared services.
2005

John Clements’ Vision Mission Values were forged.

Speaking on John Clements’ behalf, Magellan Alliance, a U.S. consulting firm, presented to an SRO audience at the American Chamber of Commerce, initial results of a study on the overall potential of the Philippines as a major BPO destination.

John Clements established its English Foundation through the Workforce Development Program to enhance communication skills, while EDI-Staffbuilders International was recognized by the International Labor Organization as a benchmark in exemplary recruitment practices. John Clements also launched the maiden issue of Wazzup, the official electronic corporate newsletter.

The partnership between John Clements and Harvard Business Publishing was established. Thus began the massive training program of JC candidates for management-level positions.

John Clements went on a retreat to Mount Malarayat in Batangas to chart its five-year plan in a visioning activity, the result of which was the launch of its Vision in April.

John Clements opened a Job Store at the Festival Mall, thus bringing their recruitment services closer and more convenient to talents in the south of Metro Manila. In later years, they evolved once again to fit the needs of the market by focusing on mobile recruitment, thus making their services even more accessible to candidates.

EDI-Staffbuilders International Holds its 1st Breakfast Forum in Prague - As EDI-Staffbuilders International, Inc. conquered a new market for Filipinos wanting to work overseas, particularly in Central Europe, it hosted its 1st Breakfast Forum in Prague, Czech Republic. The forum, which aimed to educate the participants on best practices in international hiring, was attended by more than thirty representatives from private companies, the Chamber of Commerce, the Philippine Embassy in Prague, and the Czech labor ministries.

CCI Visits Alibaba Campus in China Carol Dominguez (JCCI President & CEO) and Grace Sorongon (SVP & Managing Director) had the rare opportunity to visit Alibaba’s headquarters in Hangzhou, China, a sprawling campus of 60,000 employees and 30 buildings. While there, they were also given a tour of Alibaba’s intelligent building, which houses several lifestyle stores that cater to all the needs of Alibaba Group’s employees.

Persol Holdings President & CEO Visits John Clements Consultants The John Clements Group was honored by the presence of Mr. Mizuta, President & CEO of Persol Holdings, John Clements’ partner, which is the top recruiting company in Japan. Through John Clements, Mr. Mizuta was also able to visit several Japanese companies based in Manila, as well as meet presidents and country heads of some of JCCI’s client companies.

JC launches Soup Kitchen Drive for Taal Volcano Eruption Victims - Following Taal Volcano’s eruption on January 12, 2020, John Clements President and CEO Carol Dominguez led relief efforts aimed at providing as much help as possible. After seeing and feeling the gravity of the situation, the company heeded the call of volunteerism and immersion through the company’s Soup Kitchen Drive, providing hot meals Team JC cooked themselves. The company soon adopted two evacuation centers to further provide for their basic needs.

JC Starts to Get Serious Taking the Covid-19 Pandemic by the Horns On March 27, 2020, John Clements conducted two webinars on Leading Through the COVID-19 Crisis. At the beginning of each webinar, participants were asked how this crisis is different from other crises they’ve encountered and in what ways this crisis is putting unique demands on their leadership. Tully Moss shared his insights on how to get through this situation, how to move forward when the way forward is not at all clear, and how to make decisions in real-time under high stress when the situation is moving this fast.

JC Holds its First Virtual Cady Awards (11th) The Cady Awards is John Clements Consultants — EDI Staffbuilders International’s way of recognizing and honoring its top performers. Known for its glamour and class, this annual event was held in venues like the Makati Shangri-La for the past 10 years. However, it was done virtually this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Aptly themed “Rise as One — Be One of Our Modern-Day Heroes,” the 11th Cady Awards has shown that despite difficult times, Team JC continues to strive to make things happen.

Speakers from diverse backgrounds discuss several topics that range from leadership, learning and development, entrepreneurship, health, and wellness, and more. Held virtually this year, it was themed “Redefine Your Future: Next is Now.”

The objective of this annual event was to review the performance of each division or business unit and discuss the plans and strategies for “Reimagining 2021 and Beyond”.

JC Holds its First Virtual Company Christmas Party JCCI-EDI made history with its very first virtual Christmas party that lasted for almost 6 hours! Dubbed as “Worldwide in One Night,” the John Clements Family embraced an aviation theme and introduced its very own airline, JCAir, which traveled around the world to showcase different cultures and festivals — everywhere from America to Antarctica.

JC Year-end Big Bang (First Potluck Party Online) - John Clements ended the year with a big bang with its annual Christmas Potluck Lunch! This year’s potluck was quite different because of the pandemic. Sharing of food was done by utilizing JC’s SpeedNet messengers, who delivered meal exchanges from one home to another. Though apart, Team JC still managed to continue this tradition of having lunch together, enjoying fun games, presentations, and loads of surprises!

JC Launches its First Hybrid CADY Awards (12th) With the theme “JC Takes the Next Step”, JCCI held its very first hybrid event, the 12th CADY Awards. The annual celebration recognizes the company’s outstanding Recruitment and Sales Consultants, Top Accounts, and Millionaire Club Awardees. Several guests joined via Zoom, while those who had been fully vaccinated were invited to the rooftop of the Seda Hotel.

JC Launches Competing in the Age of AI Sessions John Clements started a 12-week program in “Competing in the Age of AI” this month. Learning or hearing about AI is often daunting to most people, but this is undeniably what the future holds.

In November 2021, JC collaborated with Harvard to host a 7-session discussion series on global affairs, while also launching its first hybrid CrossKnowledge x New Managers Program to develop leadership skills. Additionally, JC introduced Data Science Workshops to equip staff with essential skills for data-driven decision-making.

In December 2021, JCCI celebrated its first in-person Christmas events, including a themed party at the Seda Hotel rooftop that honored the "What’s Happening in the World" sessions with performances and country-themed decor, and a festive potluck at The JC Hub featuring home-cooked food, surprises, and awards.

At the International Partners Conference, Zenger Folkman honored John Clements Consultants with the Top Asia-Pacific Partner 2021 award. This recognition was given in acknowledgment of JCCI's outstanding achievement in securing the highest sales of Zenger Folkman assessments across the Asia-Pacific region.

In collaboration with John Clements Consultants and other esteemed business associations, the Harvard Alumni Clubs of the Philippines launched the first talk in the series "What They’re Made of: Secrets and Stories of Leaders on the Edge." On July 19, 2024, we celebrated the 15th annual John Clements and EDI Staffbuilders Caddy Awards Night at the Admiral Hotel with the theme “Bringing the Magic Alive in AI.” The event featured an inspiring message from a digital twin, an AI-generated jubilee song, and the launch of four new AI projects in marketing, cybersecurity, digital learning, and recruitment. The night honored our dedicated team members and highlighted our commitment to advancing AI across our operations.

The 7th John Clements CEO Golf Classic was a swinging success, with 95 golfers hitting the greens at Manila Golf! Despite the rain earlier in the week, the event kicked off at 6 AM with a hearty breakfast, expert tips, and an exciting 9 AM shotgun start. On October 25, 2024, Carol Dominguez, CEO of John Clements Consultants, was honored by Harvard University with the HAA (Harvard Alumni Association) Award for her extraordinary service as a Harvard alumna. Recognized at an award ceremony in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Carol was one of only two awardees from Asia, celebrated for her dedication to fostering alumni engagement in the Philippines and globally. Her leadership has strengthened the Harvard community in the Philippines and supported educational opportunities for young Filipinos.

Mr. John Clements, Australian psychologist, and Mr. Cady Dominguez, Harvard Business School graduate, sealed the partnership of John Clements Consultants, Inc. for Executive Search and set its sights on becoming a pioneer in the recruitment business.

Looking at the growing need for staffing of professionals, middle management down to rank and file, Professional Staffers Division was born in 1976.

In 1979, Mr. Dominguez formed EDI Staffbuilders with Mr. John Corrigan, an Australian investment banker, to initially service projects in Saudi Arabia.


Saudi Arabia was suffering from a recession. Foreign investors were jittery and pulling out. This included John Corrigan, the partner of John Clements Consultants, Inc. in EDI Staffbuilders.


In 1991, another promising market caught Mr. Dominguez’s eyes: Jakarta. He sent two of his consultants to case the joint, so to speak, and to set up a manual of future operations.

Two more divisions formed in 1995 – Speednet and Shop ‘n Check Philippines

In August 2002, Mr. Dominguez – without fuss or fanfare – suddenly fell ill and said goodbye to John Clements Consultants, Inc., the company he gave life to, nurtured, and grew for 28 years.

In 2004, new developments emerged in the corporate world. Offshore Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) was huge and rapidly growing at an unprecedented rate. The call center industry was the fastest growing industry in world, and because of that we pitched the capability of the Philippines to handle BPO/IT and shared services.

John Clements’ Vision Mission Values were forged.

Speaking on John Clements’ behalf, Magellan Alliance, a U.S. consulting firm, presented to an SRO audience at the American Chamber of Commerce, initial results of a study on the overall potential of the Philippines as a major BPO destination.

Launched the maiden issue of Wazzup, John Clements’ official electronic corporate newsletter.

John Clements introduced its English Foundation through its Work Force Development Program to help current and future employees communicate more effectively in English
