Growth begins when we challenge ourselves to learn, lead, and think beyond our current roles. As a participant in the new managers program, I had the privilege of completing eight sessions designed to help aspiring leaders grow into effective managers.
Guided by mentors and leaders within John Clements, we explored essential topics, including:
- Understanding the role of a manager
- Getting work done through others
- Coaching fundamentals
- Building high-performing teams
- Strengthening leadership effectiveness
Leadership development remains a priority for organizations worldwide because strong leaders drive employee engagement, performance, and business growth.

The program culminated in the presentation of our Action Learning Projects (ALPs). During this activity, participants proposed innovative solutions to enhance processes and employee experiences at JCCI-EDI. Four groups took part in the presentation: Services Support, Outsourcing, Service Delivery Hub, and EDI.
I am truly grateful for the opportunity to be part of the new managers program, as the lessons and experiences gained will serve as a strong foundation for my future career growth.
Action Learning Projects in Action
Services Support: Transforming Payment Requests with RFP Connect
Our group, Services Support, was the first to present our Action Learning Project: RFP Connect, a centralized payment request platform designed to improve the organization’s email-based Request for Payment process.

Specifically, the platform establishes a secure and efficient workflow through:
- Online submission of requests
- Supporting document uploads
- Real-time status tracking
- Automated notifications
- Comprehensive reporting dashboards
Furthermore, RFP Connect strengthens transparency and accountability across departments. It also gives the accounting team better tools for monitoring, prioritization, and reporting. With built-in audit trails and contingency safeguards, the platform can reduce delays, minimize risks, and support more informed decision-making.
Outsourcing: Promoting Employee Engagement and Well-Being
Next, the Outsourcing group presented an ALP focused on employee engagement and well-being among its outsourced workforces.

The team proposed bringing wellness activities closer to employees through programs such as:
In addition, the group emphasized the need to make learning and development opportunities more accessible. As a result, employees can continuously build their skills while staying informed about industry developments.
Consequently, these initiatives aim to create a healthier, more productive, and more engaged workforce while supporting both professional growth and personal well-being.
Service Delivery Hub: Strengthening Recruitment Through Feedback
The Service Delivery Hub group introduced an End-to-End Recruitment Assessment Form designed to collect structured feedback from both clients and recruiters.

Unlike traditional assessments that gather feedback from only one side, this approach encourages a stronger partnership throughout the recruitment process. The collected data can provide valuable insights that support evidence-based decisions and continuous improvement.
Moreover, the assessment helps leaders:
- Prioritize key accounts
- Strengthen client relationships
- Allocate resources effectively
- Improve long-term account management
Ultimately, the initiative supports more strategic and data-driven recruitment operations.
EDI-Staffbuilders: Streamlining Recruitment with Project TRACK
The EDI-Staffbuilders group presented Project TRACK, an initiative powered by Sniper AI, the company’s recruitment and talent acquisition platform.

The project seeks to centralize applicant information into one system. This approach makes recruitment data easier to access, manage, and organize. It also improves candidate status tracking and automates follow-up communications.
Furthermore, Project TRACK helps recruiters maintain timely communication with applicants. Better documentation and coordination can enhance efficiency across the recruitment process. As a result, both recruiters and candidates benefit from a smoother experience.
How the New Managers Program Develops Future Leaders
One of the greatest strengths of the new managers program is its emphasis on practical learning. Rather than focusing solely on theory, participants apply leadership concepts to real workplace challenges.
Through the Action Learning Projects, participants strengthen several critical competencies:
- Problem-solving
- Collaboration
- Strategic thinking
- Communication
- Leadership accountability
These experiences provide a valuable bridge between classroom learning and real-world application.
Turning Lessons into Lasting Growth
The new managers program provided participants with practical tools, leadership principles, and valuable insights that support success in managerial roles. Throughout the sessions, we learned the importance of communication, accountability, sound decision-making, and people leadership.
More importantly, the new managers program encouraged a mindset of continuous growth and lifelong learning. The experience challenged us to think beyond our current responsibilities and prepare for greater leadership opportunities ahead.
As we continue our professional journeys, the lessons gained from this program will help us create a positive impact within our teams, organizations, and communities.
