When the opportunity arose to take a break from the hustle of everyday life, our family of four eagerly packed our bags for a memorable five-day adventure in vibrant Hong Kong. It was our children’s first trip outside the Philippines and a celebration of our youngest’s 7th birthday—what an incredible experience it turned out to be!
Day 1: First Glimpse of the City
We arrived in Hong Kong on June 3rd, bubbling with excitement. After a smooth flight and swift transfer to our hotel in Lantau, we took time to rest and recharge. That evening, we ventured out for a casual dinner and light exploration in Tsim Sha Tsui, soaking in the city’s electric vibe while adjusting to our new pace.
Day 2: A Birthday Spent in the Happiest Place on Earth
June 4th was all about magic and wonder—we spent the entire day at Hong Kong Disneyland. Since it was our little boy’s birthday, we stopped by Disneyland’s City Hall for a birthday pin. The characters made him feel extra special with warm greetings and heartfelt hugs.
From heart-pounding rides like Hyperspace Mountain to mesmerizing performances such as the Festival of the Lion King, every moment sparked joy. Meeting Mickey, Minnie, and even Chip and Dale created unforgettable memories. The night concluded with a dazzling fireworks display that truly touched our hearts.
Day 3: Ocean Thrills and Harbor Views
Next, we explored Ocean Park Hong Kong, a fun mix of amusement rides and marine life attractions. The kids adored the cable car ride and the Grand Aquarium, while we adults marveled at the breathtaking views from the Ocean Express. Later, we boarded the Aqua Luna, a traditional Chinese junk boat, and witnessed the spectacular Symphony of Lights from Victoria Harbour. It was both serene and surreal.

Day 4: Mountains, Monks, and Madame Tussauds
On June 6th, we began our day with a scenic Crystal Cabin cable car ride from Tung Chung to Ngong Ping Village. The kids were awestruck by the towering Big Buddha and loved exploring the tranquil Po Lin Monastery.
After lunch, we journeyed to Central for the iconic Peak Tram ride to Victoria Peak. The panoramic views from Sky Terrace 428 were breathtaking, and our visit to Madame Tussauds added fun flair—especially when the kids spotted wax figures of their favorite stars like Cristiano Ronaldo and Ed Sheeran!
Day 5: A Sweet and Slow Farewell
For our last day, we kept things slow and simple. We wandered through a local market and enjoyed a delightful dim sum lunch at a traditional restaurant in Tsim Sha Tsui. With full hearts and suitcases, we headed to the airport, already reminiscing about the adventure we’d shared.
