The holiday season might be over, but the spirit of connection and wellness is alive and running—literally! As 2025 kicks off, New Year’s resolutions are about being healthier, and what better way to start than with a community fun run? John Clements Consultants and EDI-Staffbuilders International (EDI) brought the energy with a Fun Run event that got everyone—internal employees, outsourced talent, and even their very own CEO, Maria Carolina V. Dominguez—off to an exhilarating start!
Breaking a Sweat and Breaking the Ice
The event started bright and early at 5:30 AM at the Ayala Triangle Gardens—because nothing says “good morning” like a lively Zumba session! Led by an instructor who made sure no one stayed still, the warm-up had everyone grooving, stretching, and getting hyped for the 3KM run.
From internal employees to outsourced staff from different clients, the fun run wasn’t just about hitting fitness goals—it was about building connections, sharing laughs, and making memories. After all, isn’t it more fun to jog alongside colleagues who are huffing, puffing, and occasionally cracking jokes?
Who Runs the World? Runners!
As the run officially started, participants took to the track, completing three laps around the lush Ayala Triangle Gardens. With adrenaline pumping and competitive spirits high, the event wasn’t short on excitement. Of course, it wasn’t just about finishing—it was about finishing with flair, as shown by the Most Athletically Dressed Employee award!
By the end of the race, winners were crowned, and prizes were handed out. Kudos to them for showing everyone how it’s done! But let’s be real—everyone who joined the fun run deserves a gold star for showing up and sweating it out. Here’s the rundown of the top finishers:
Top 3 Male Finishers:
- Keven Guanco – Service Delivery Hub
- Excel Gozun – Service Delivery Hub
- Nathan Salenga – Service Delivery Hub
Top 3 Female Finishers:
- Cheryl Cano – Outsourced Employee from Makati Development Corporation (also the Most Athletically Dressed!)
- Carol Joy Mapagu – EDI
- Cyril Marudo – EDI
From the Track to the Breakfast Table
The celebration didn’t stop at the finish line. After the awarding ceremony and a quick photo op, participants took a scenic walk to Salcedo Market. The short stroll was a great way to cool down while continuing to bond with colleagues and—get this—the CEO herself!
At the market, everyone feasted on a traditional Filipino breakfast, enjoying delicious local dishes and conversations that ranged from the race to future resolutions. Adding to the festive mood, Ms. Carol, our CEO and President, surprised everyone by giving away tikoy to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year. Tikoy, a sweet and sticky rice cake, symbolizes unity and prosperity. Its stickiness represents strengthening bonds, and it’s believed to bring good fortune for the year ahead.
This thoughtful gesture not only highlighted the company’s commitment to celebrating diversity but also added an extra layer of warmth to an already memorable event.
Why This Event Mattered
Beyond the awards, Tikoy, and breakfast plates, the Fun Run was about fostering connections. It brought together employees from different branches, outsourced talents, and leadership in an informal, high-energy setting. Events like these are at the heart of what makes John Clements Consultants and EDI-Staffbuilders International more than just companies—they’re communities that celebrate people.
So, here’s to starting the year on the right foot (pun intended)! Whether you ran, walked, or just danced through the warm-up, this event proved that the best resolutions aren’t about individual goals—they’re about coming together to make the journey unforgettable. Cheers to 2025 and all the connections we’ll keep building along the way!
