On October 25, 2024, Carol Dominguez, CEO of John Clements Consultants, received recognition from Harvard University for her exceptional service as a Harvard alumna. The award ceremony took place at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, and drew several hundred Harvard alumni. Carol was one of six honorees, including only two from Asia.
Recognizing Extraordinary Service to Harvard
Since 1990, the Harvard Alumni Association (HAA) has honored distinguished alumni for their extraordinary contributions to Harvard. This year’s six awardees represent outstanding dedication, with Carol standing out for her work in Asia alongside fellow recipients from North America.
Strengthening the Harvard Community in the Philippines
Carol’s leadership has strengthened the Harvard alumni community in the Philippines and internationally. As president of the Harvard Business School Club of the Philippines and the Harvard Club of the Philippines Global, she organized innovative programs that revitalized these organizations. Her efforts created dynamic spaces for alumni to connect and collaborate.
Fostering Global Alumni Engagement
On the global stage, Carol has brought alumni together in various capacities. She served as reunion chair for her Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program class, fostering a worldwide sense of community. As a member of the Harvard Business School Alumni Board’s executive committee, she advanced initiatives to enhance alumni engagement. Carol also championed alumni in the Asia-Pacific region as an HAA director for Clubs and Shared Interest Groups (SIGs). In her role as co-chair of the Financial Sustainability and Partnerships committee, she led a diverse team to build lasting resources for alumni organizations. Additionally, her work on the advisory board of the International Leadership Workshop introduced innovative ways for alumni to collaborate and learn.
Supporting Educational Opportunities for Young Filipinos
Beyond alumni connections, Carol has focused on empowering young Filipinos to pursue education at Harvard. She has inspired aspiring students and supported fundraising efforts for a student loan program, making Harvard education more accessible to those from developing countries.
