Serving as the overall chairperson for the 9th Youth for Leadership Summit (Y4LS) was an incredible journey filled with challenges and triumphs. The Y4LS is an annual event that brings together the future leaders of our country to harness their potential, drive change, and create a brighter tomorrow. This article delves into my experiences leading the youth leadership summit for the second time and highlights the remarkable achievements we accomplished.
Reflections from the 9th Youth for Leadership Summit
Following the previous year’s success with over 1300 online attendees, we set an ambitious goal to double the number of participants this year, and we succeeded. For the first time, we held a hybrid Y4LS, welcoming a number of student leaders onsite and investing in a specially designed online platform for our online attendees to enjoy engaging online activities. The event predominantly took place in the virtual realm, spanning a six-hour duration.
While celebrating our accomplishments, it’s essential to acknowledge that there are always areas for improvement. In the spirit of continuous growth, we recognize the need to refine various aspects to ensure a more seamless event in the future. Attendees’ feedback and suggestions are invaluable as we work toward making Y4LS even more impactful.
Setting the Stage
Taking on the role of overall chairperson for the 9th Y4LS was both an honor and a tremendous responsibility. Months of preparation, planning, and coordination were essential to ensure the summit’s success. This role demanded vision, leadership, resiliency, and an unwavering commitment to our mission: to ignite, nurture, and empower the leadership potential of young individuals.
